Gold Wedding Rings – A Classic

When you think about a marriage what comes to mind? The image of two gold wedding rings being exchanged is probably the first thing you think of. This idea of the gold ring has been a symbol for marriage for hundreds of years. Now a days, with that large selections of gold, the old yellow wedding rings are beginning to look a little bland.  If you want a gold wedding ring you now choose from the following types of gold.

1.    White gold – this gold looks similar to silver but can have a very polished look. White gold is actually an alloy of pure gold mixed with one white metal such as nickel, manganese or palladium. Just like yellow gold, it’s purity is measured in carats.

2.    Rose gold – This is a mix of copper, yellow gold and silver to give it the light pink color.Wedding ringsImage by apdk via Flickr

3.    Yellow gold – Yellow gold is true gold, since all gold is yellow in color. Yellow gold is measured in carats just like the other forms of gold are.

So now that you know what your options are, do you still want to stick with the traditional yellow gold wedding rings?

Personally, I like the look of white gold. I think it is an elegant look that will not go out of style anytime soon. It also looks very sharp with a brilliant cut diamond. Whatever you may choose, I hope I have helped you pick out the perfect wedding rings.
